The jacket was hand-painted but according to the atelier, is only noticed very close up where subtle brushstrokes are seen.

In this video, Dior has explained its process for hand-painting a leather jacket featured in its Dior men's Fall collection 2022. Inspired by the original cover art of Visions of Cody by Jack Kerouac, the jacket is inspired by the Beat Generation, a literary movement in the 1950s. Designer Kim Jones had been dropping not-so-subtle hints about the inspiration for his collection in the days leading up to its reveal, sending out copies of On the Road and decorating leather.
