Today, the Explorer is something of an outlier within the modern Rolex sport watch lineup. I wanted to write out a fairly detailed review of the 2021 Rolex Explorer 1 – 124270 which was released in April of this year. There has been much debate and discussion on this watch on TRF and other forums as its one of the few (if any) times Rolex has gone back to an original design size for a new model. Members of the forum will correct me .Originally a defect, and similar to the 16550’s white dials, the patina of the luminous has not only made for some truly attractive 16570 “Polar” dials, but also given way for these flawed examples to increase in value substantially over time.
